4GB RAM problem

Hi,

Here are my components:

ASUS P5B
A-DATA DDRII 2GB PC6400 800 Mhz x 2
Intel Core 2 Duo E4500
NVIDIA 8800GT 512 MB
WD 250GB harddrive

Yesterday I installed Windows Vista and thought that buying an extra RAM-memory would boost my computer a bit, but I was wrong. Instead I felt that my computer slowed down. I ran memtest with both 2GB and 4GB, and there were no problems, here are the results for 4GB:

Settings: RAM : 401 MHZ (DDR802) / CAS 5-5-5-12 / Dual Channel.
MEMORY: 4095 MB | 3318 MB/s
(With 2GB I got 3200 MB/s.)

Is 3318Mb/s good? Isn't that too little of a difference? Are my RAM-timings good?

I've upgraded the bios to the latest version and that didn't make any difference.

What could the problem be? Have I forgotten about something?

Your not understanding completely how memory works. More memory won't make your memory "faster". In fact, filling all 4 slots may cause latency inconsistancies and indeed your memory can run slower than just filling 2 slots. Try upping your voltage to the memory a bit (+.1 volt).
