I need Windows XP for my school classes. I have an iMac. I want to buy a mybook and use it to expand my storage, which is full of video. I will have to partition. I have done this once or twice, but I never really understood what I was doing. The question is, do I put the XP on the mybook, or on my hard drive? and how should I partition everything? I am learning about these things in my classes, but I know just enough to be dangerous!!
The mybook should be partitioned in a way that both Mac and Windows can read at the same time. Ext2 is a good way. You can format the mybook NTFS and install a driver for NTFS on the Mac.
thanks!! the mybook did not give me much choice when i went to format. it said i could leave it at fat32, or choose extended with or without journaling. i understand extended, but not journaling/
