Hi

I have a two processor HP XW8400 workstation, it has 5160 (3GHz) processors in it. I have reviewed the FAQ on overlocking but in my BIOS I cannot ammend (or even see options) for modifying the clocking speeds.

Am I being stupid...

That's because you have a OEM PC! Your BIOS is locked. You can't OC on most HP, Dell,etc. because they lock their BIOS.

what a shame!

I have now purchased a machine to replace the XW8400, I have ordered a T7500 workstation with 2 x W5580 3.2GHz processors, 24GB RAM and SAS drives. This shouldn't need overclocking!

He's building a dual LGA1366 workstation, 24GB is hardly overkill. Anyone who needs 16 threads is obviously not just playing Crysis.
