Basic parts:
Mobo: M57SLI S4 (rev 2.0)
CPU: AMD Phenom x4 9600 2.3ghz
RAM: Corsair XMS2 PC2 6400 2gig (x2)
Video: BFG 8800 512mb
PSU: BFG 650w (ATX)
HDD: WD 750g SATA

The PC won't post/beep/etc. It will power on, fans spin, etc, but nothing appears on the screen. Have tried swapping out RAM sticks, switching the monitor between the 2 plugs on the video card... nothing.

I'm helping a friend build this, so I won't have instant answers as to what works, but getting to BIOS would be great. I know we need to mess with some things there, but we can't even get it to show anything. The only thing that's been used before is the monitor and PSU, unfortunately... the rest are brand new, unkowns.

Triple-check the cable connections. Make sure there's no extra standoff.

Check that the bios is F14 or later. This may be printed on a label on the bios chip:

http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/Motherboard/CPUSupport_Model.aspx?ProductID=2287

AMD Phenom X4 9600 2300Mhz 512KBx4 2MB Agena 65nm B2 95W 3600 F14

If you can, use an AM2 cpu to flash the bios. If not, ask a store to do it for you for a fee.

If you're sure the bios supports the cpu, try each ram stick in each slot.

Switching RAM slots/sticks didn't help, cables plugged for sure...
Checking on the BIOS version, not finding it on the first try... it's a good suggestion, but just to point out (in case you use the suggestion again) it's a rev. 2.0 board, so the BIOS is FG for AM2+ CPUs. Again, thanks for the suggestion though, I'll reply again when I have an answer.
