I have been following the forums lately as I built my new computer and decided to hold off on getting a video card since the new offerings from ATI and NVIDIA where nearing. I'll throw out the specs for my box now...

Since my mobo has PCIe 2.0 and is CF ready I was leaning towards getting one of the ATI cards (4850 or 4870), but I am not sure which would be good. Down the road I do plan on upgrading my PSU and then run a CF setup...or since I game only at 1680x1050 would that be to much power for what I need..? At the moment my gaming is mainly WoW and Source based games, but when I upgrade I plan on doing some Crysis probably AoC, Mass Effect and more of the newer games.

With Crysis and AoC in the plans, i'd go with the 4870. In the future you can upgrade your PSU and add another 4870 in CF.
