I recently noticed that my dvd-rw drive is now showing as cd drive when I insert a blank dvd-r. When I eject it, it changes back to dvd-rw in the "my computer" screen. After a little research, I found that the file system is showing as RAW and my dvd burning software won't recognize the dvd drive now. Any ideas how to fix this problem? I'm not exactly sure when it happened but I have installed some programs since the last time I used it so I'm thinking one of the programs may have started this issue? Thanks for the help.

I have a GA-EP45-UD3P that does that.
If I insert a DVD it won't recognize it.
The DVD drive is fine. It'a motherboard problem.
I am waiting on a bios update.

sounds about right, when a cd is not in the drive, it shows as a dvd drive but when I insert a cd or dvd, it shows as a cd drive and I can't burn files or movies on it as my burning software ( I have 2 programs) won't pick up the drive. The file system shows raw instead of ntsf. Please keep me posted on the bios issue, thanks.
