Hi Guys!
i really need your help, i bought a webcam last month try to installed it and it goes wrong because cannot find the driver but i have already install the webcam driver with the installation cd along with the product, i thought it is my OS is faulty, coz im using windows vista 64bit computing, then a weeks later got a new usb same thing happen exactly what the webcam did,,,ignored this problem until got new hard disk WD, unlike to the previous hard disk that i use after connecting it,, it automatically installed, but the new one is its undergo the installed shied wizard and seeking a driver, and had a dialog box says
i think the first option is the best solution,, do this nothings happen...and after this another dialog box appear...
asking for a cd but i dont have, HD got no cd included while purchasing it, totally not have a cd..
so i click next and its start searching for any possible solution then this dialog box appears;
what do you think might be the problem?
i only that it totally cant install new device or hardware, the best example is my old usb is still working when i plug, but the new one asking for a driver, and never can be installed without device drive,...
Is this a usb enclosure with this drive? what make?
The WD6400AACS is a SATA hard drive normally sold seperatly. So if you purchased it in a USB case it may not be ready for use and needs to have a partition created and be formatted before use.
Open the Control Panel select Device Manager then Drive Managment and see if the drive appears and shows if it has unallocated space, if so you will have to create a partition and format it.
Select Help from the Start menu and search for creating partitions if you need to. If you don't understand post back.

As Jonmor68 said it could be that the drive needs to be partitioned first. You could use the parted magic live CD downloadable freely at http://partedmagic.com/ , burn the image onto a cd, boot the computer from the live parted magic CD with WD6400AACS connected to the computer, partition/format the drive . Reboot the computer and remove the live CD before your computer restarts. Windows should detect the drive and the partitions. Hope this helps
