pc won't boot help!

Hi,

My PC currently doesn't boot or even get to the post screen, i get a red light that comes on for the hdd light indicator and no output to the screen.

have tried removing ram, gfx card and hd yet it still won't even post.

The pc used to bootup but cut and shutdown after a while (which was due to cpu overheating) so i cleaned cpu + heatsink and reapplied some thermal grease. now the above error, anyone got any ideas?

led on mobo is on which would indicate power etc, however the pc won't switch off unless i fully unplug it no matter how long i hold down the power button.

dont worry, it was me being a numpty and not lifting the cpu arm before putting it in etc so it didn't seat properly, feel really embarrassed now making such a rookie mistake
