Opinions on an upgrade

I've just bought an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 with a Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L to go alongside my eVGA GeForce 8800 GTS 320 MB and 2 gigs of Corsair XMS DDR2 800. I know the processor is a beast, but I chose the motherboard because it had more positive reviews and was cheaper than the P35 chipset board.

Does anyone here have a similar setup who can tell me what to expect? Any compatibility issues I should be aware of? I haven't bought an Intel CPU like... ever, so I'm pretty nervous.

uh well u put it in the socket, clip it down, put on cooler, then turn it on...

I don't own the mobo but i know that your E8400 should run on it without any problem. It supports all the Penryns. Go ahead.
