i am currently using a wireless signal from an unsecure source, the signal is really weak and drops out all the time.
because of this i purchased a 3 com 7760 wireless access point. because this has options for acess point - work group bridge - adhoc-repeater-and wireless bridge. it is a stand alone unit but somehow it needs to be configured to the network i currently use, i have been trying to do this for weeks now and ran out of ideas.
from what i can gather i need the 3com to talk to the belkin and my laptop to talk to the 3com.
please help

Thank you!

go into your ap configuration pages using the web interface, go to system properties and i think select either repeater mode, wireless workgroup bridge mode or wireless bridge mode.

certainly according to the manual the wireless workgroup bridge mode should act as a client and allow it to connect to other wireless access points.
