I plan on running vista 64 bit, and i've never done any overclocking.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You won't notice any difference between the E8500 and the E8400 ... get the latter instead since its cheaper by $80. It IS the most popular gaming CPU.

Instead of spending $140 on a 750W PSU heres a $100 750W PSU of the same if not better quality.

Oh don't get the 320GB WD... get the Seagate 500GB 7200.11 for the same price of $85 instead...and its faster than the WD 320GB too.

Instead of the overpriced 8800GT get the faster and cooler 8800GTS for just $175

Though you should wait for the new Radeon 4870.

The Xigmatek S1283 is the boss of coolers out there.

mobo: The 780i wouldn't be my first choice. It's expensive and inferior to its Intel counterpart, the X48. Still, if you want SLI you have to go with Nvidia.

CPU: Drop down to the E8400 and save some $. You won't be able to tell the difference, especially if you plan to overclock a little.

PSU: Great choice, but keep in mind that Newegg doesn't have the best prices on PSUs. That being said, $140 isn't bad for a Silencer 750.

HDDs: I would recommend a single larger drive over two small ones in RAID. The 640GB model is only $109.99.

GPU: The new Nvidia and ATI cards are coming out in a couple of weeks, and they should blow away what we have right now. Unless you're in a hurry I'd say wait on this one.

mem: That should be fine

case: Fine

cooler: ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro
