I get an error message trying to play a dvd

Hello,
When I insert a dvd into "D" drive a get a message saying VLC is unable to open MRL 'dvd://D:\: check the log for details.

It sounds as though you have installed VLC media player. If you have, it has made itself the default player for DVDs but there is a fault with the VLC installation. you need to go to default programs and make windows media player your default player again. if this fixes it, uninstall VLC and reinstall. You can always set VLC as the default anytime.
