hello all,

I'm making a new configuration for my PC, and i dunno which memory i should take. and some other stuff too.

I'll be in gaming configuration with a lil photoshop utilisation.

my setting atm:

_ CPU :
_ E8400 140€

_ MoBo:
Asus P5Q-E 103,88€

Memory:
TWIN2X4096-8500C5D 124€
OCZ DDR2 PC2-8500 Reaper HPC 4GB --> 2,1V seam a lil problem no ?
G.Skill DDRII 2 x 2 Go PC8800 PI Series --> 1,8v look like better

GPU : XFX GTX 280

_ Case:
_ twelve hundred
_ antec P182
_ Gigabyte 3D Aurora Noir
_ Lian Li PC-A12 Black
_ hyper osiris

I dunno which one I should take. I'll focuse on silence and refresh. I got preference for P182 and 1200.

_ HDD system : VelociRaptor
_ HDD stockage: Samsung SpinPoint F1 1T

Should i take a velociraptor ? or buy 2 DD to make a RAID ? does raptor still make noise ?

Screen: samsung 2232BW or T220 ?

Burner : samsung SH S223F

PSU: Antec NeoPower 550W

cooler CPU : Noctua NH-U12P

I find a shop TechTreasure who purpose:
E8400 $170.99 + Asus P5Q-E $155.99 + TWIN $139.99 + XFX GTX280 $449,99 + SpinPoint F1 750 $109.99 + VelociRaptor 300Gb $314.99 = $1341,94

what do you think ? give me some advise please.

and sorry for my bad english, English is not my mother tongue.

E8400 140€
Asus P5Q-E 103,88€
G.Skill DDRII 2 x 2 Go PC8800 PI Series
XFX GTX 280
antec P182 silence
Samsung SpinPoint F1 1T
samsung T220 20,000:1
samsung SH S223F
Antec NeoPower 550W
Noctua NH-U12P

If it were me, I'd go with this list. Keep in mind I'm an overclocker. If you don't overclock, pick up the cheapest ram. If you do, try to get your hands on P5Q PRO.

Check Asus's list of qualified RAM vendors for P5Q boards. None of those modules are listed as qualified in a 4x2 configuration, but they also list some as qualifed for 2x2 but not 4x2.

550w seems a little light on PSU? Not my strongest area so may want other opinions but it may be better to go a little higher. ??
