Please help

Hello, my laptop came up with a warning saying that Birmingham police illegal downloads it was turned off and when I switched it on when it loads to the part where you have to login my name's has been removed and its now called other users. I have tried going into safe mode but when I press f8 bottom nothing happens at all its just carry on loading.

The warning "Birmingham police illegal downloads" was a fake. Your PC is infected with malware.
The best course of action is to perform a Factory Recovery using either your Recovery Discs or invoking
Factory Recovery at boot time. Your laptop manufacturer's website should have instructions on how to do that.

Then, as soon as possible, install a trusted Antivirus/Firewall package like Norton Internet Security. I have it installed on all three computers in my house - I don't trust any of the free ones and I don't like any of the commercial ones except Norton.
