I'm not an overclocker (yet). So checking the recommended BIOS setting in those threads didn't help me much.

I'm going to build a EP35-DS3L Mobo with an Intel E8400 Retail CPU set up and 2 GB of Kingston PC6400 DDR2 RAM ( 800MHz DDR2 Non-ECC CL5 DIMM
Detailed Specifications: Standard 128M X 64 Non-ECC 800MHz 240-pin Unbuffered DIMM (SDRAM-DDR2, 1.8V, CL5).

I want to run this system stock, but with all the unnecessary BIOS settings disabled. Basically looking for a slimmed down BOIS setting that will give me the most from my stock setup.

I will be running a PCIe X16 GeForce 8500GT 512 initially until a price drop in the GeForce 280GTX. The PSU is a Corsair 650w.

Thanks for any help, and sorry for the dumb question. I don't build or tinker with systems enough to feel comfortable messing with something I'm unsure of.

SO,,,you have two choices, run at installed default,or,bios optimized default,OTOH,you can in the bios turn off anything that you do not need/use,like the audio, serial port, boot screen, use your own needs as a guide..:>)
