X48 is too high end and too expensive ...unless you're a hardcore OCing enthusiast, avoid it. Get the more popular, more affordable and excellent performing Gigabyte GA-X38-DS4 ($180)

You heard right about Nvidia SLI issues.

A Data is the only RAM brand i haven't used...but it looks good in reviews...

9800GTX is just an OCed 8800GTS ... get it only if you think its worth the extra $130.

Anyhow if you have a budget of $300 the better option than 9800GTX would be TWO 3870 in Crossfire for $140 each. Its a faster rig than 9800gtx

Another advantage would be you'd be able to get Radeon 4870 later on and crossfire it with one 3870.

ps: make sure your friend doesn't get screwed by the Customs at the airport :p

Oh yeah I forgot to metnion the reason I dont wana get the cheaper X38 boards is that they dont have PCI-e 2.0? And I need that for future upgradeability and even for GPUs now..... I checked the 3870's and they were said to be noisy? And I like Geforce more too... but I'll read some more about them! Thanks!!!
