Hi guys,
I have bought a WD external Hard drive, works fine for few months unfortunetly stopped working no noise from the drive, and I have put my important data in it. The merchant offered refund but I cannot give the product as It has sensitive data / photos .
Is there any other way I can retrive. The guys from the PC world offered the job but with a BIG £ tag.
please help or guide.

Rule #1 - ALWAYS make multiple backups of important data.
Rule #2 - See Rule #1

You've just learned a valuable lesson, the hard way, regarding backups. Now, that said, there's a slim chance that only the electronics in the enclosure have failed. Remove the drive from the enclosure and place it in a new one. If there's still no activity then a recovery service ($$$$) is your only hope of recovery.
