Hello All - sorry if this is in forum.....

Have just ran 3DMark06 and pulled in a score of 12950, my setup is:

Intel Q6600 @3.20GHz, Radeon 4850 512, 4GB G.Skill PC8500 Ram. - Vista Ultimate SP1.

I was expecting a higher score than this, am i just being greedy, or is this the kind of ballpark figure i should be expecting?

Reason i ask is i have swapped out a 3870 XT for the 4850, and have gone up all of 800 3DMarks - is that right???

Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Stokie

I unlocked the cores on the CPU, so now it's a phenom II X4 B50 OC @ 3.2Ghz

CPU Stock Speed: 3.1Ghz

Stock Settings:

13762 3DMarks
SM2.0 Score: 5059
HDR/SM3.0 Score: 6278
CPU Score: 4730

Overclocked Settings

Settings:
CPU @ 3.2Ghz
RAM @ 1333Mhz
Graphics GPU @ 650Mhz, Graphics ram @ 1000Mhz

14108 3DMarks
SM2.0 Score: 5186
HDR/SM3.0 Score: 6449
CPU Score: 4824

Overclocked Even Higher!

Settings:
CPU @ 3.6Ghz

You got 1600 on the overall 3DMarks? That's very low to be honest...Are you using 3DMark06?

I'm not laughing...lol...ok...cough cough...Just kidding :p

If you already have the picture, here's how you do it:

1. Create a photobucket acount
2. Upload it to your photobucket account.
3. Click on "Share" above the picture you want to post.
4. Click on "Get link code" tab.
5. Copy-paste the code you want on to the forum (I use the "IMG for bulletin boards & forums" and "Full size" )

That mobo actually looks good to me...seems like it has everything you would need.
Except one thing: If you're planning on running Cross Fire, you won't have any space for any other cards, like a pci sound card for example, as most cards take up 2 spaces. Other than that it's a great motherboard. :)

Your score is really nice...Exactly what I would expect from that CPU...What Os are you using?
My friend has a 955 and his CPU score is 4421 @ stock speed 3.2 in Vista 64...Mine in XP 32 is way higher @ 3.2 4860...don't know why...but your score is nice... :D

I'm just noticing that my unlocked phenom II X2 550 (Phenom II X4 B50 when unlocked) has higher scores than the 940 and 955...I was using XP 32 for the benchmark tests (I'm using Windows 7 64 and Windows XP 32 in a dual boot configuration) Maybe AMD was trying to make a better PII but it wasn't a big enough improvement so they locked two cores and made a powerful dual core CPU... :??: Or maybe my scores are higher because I used Win XP for the benchmarks...because I noticed my CPU score was a little lower in Win 7 as well as Vista...What do you guys think? In any case I'm happy I have this $100 "home-made quad" :D
Saved myself $145 :)

so you took your dual core and unlocked it into a quad core ? sweet nice money saving! and dont worry about it 3DMark06 doesnt run well in vista or win 7 because it was made way before them and the drivers arnt that good for them so XP would get a better score thats for sure

Well...At least I'm sure my CPU is as good as phenom II X4 955 (if not better)
Which makes me very happy...thanks for everything guys...

Oh really...sorry
I think It's a great motherboard, it has everything you need and should run nicely.I like it, except for one thing:
If you're planning to run Cross Fire you wont be able to stick any other cards in, like a pci sound card for example, as most graphics cards take up two slots...Other than that, It's great...

Well the 940 is worse than the 955 only because it can't be overclocked as high...I think my CPU is the same as the 955 (or possibly better in overall performance, but again I really don't have enough to back that up)
But if by any chance it is better than the 955, then yes it's better than yours...you see what I mean?
I'm just sure that it shouldn't be any worse than the 955...
