My PSU always fails, 2 have failed and 1 has caused damages to my previous motherboard within three months. 1 year later, now the PSU fails again, it's actually a total new system.

AMD X2 3600
1GB RAM
400W MATX PSU

Thanks in advance.

Though I am unsure of what video card you have. If you could let us know that would be great, but from what im looking at so far this should work fine for you.

Not if you're from planet earth.

Anyhow PCP&C PSUs are swell... my neighbor has it ... I'm going to upgrade soon too.. though I'm getting Corsair 750TX for $99 at buy.com :p

Many thanks to all. :)

This time the PSU dies with a "Pop" sound.
Perhaps my PSUs are too bad.

Is it good to use surge protector also?

Get decent surge protector. I always figure $50 at a minimum.

Buy a UPS. Possibly even more important than the surge protector. Friend of mine lost 2 Corsair PSUs and an ASUS mobo before he figured out that his poqer company blows. Bought a UPS, no more problems.

Athlon X2 3600+
HDD: WD1600
2 sticks DDR2 667Mhz
XFX 8600GT , factory overclocked , XFX PVT84JUSD4
1 DVD COMBO
Gigabyte M61PM-S2

Many thanks

You know some thing might be frying your PSUs. a 380W PSU should have been enough to power that buid (not 100% sure here, Zorg or someone else double check)

Also are you very sure that the crashes were from the PSU dying and nothing else? (ie. over heating, etc)

So has anyone even considered that there may be an electical problem in his house??

Quick question for you.. do you have the system hooked up to an UPS? Any type of surge protector??

Figured that might be something worth looking into.

Many thanks to all of you. :hello:
I do not have a surge protector or UPS. I live in Hong Kong and i think the voltage should be Ok here.
But i am not sure whether it's home electrical problem or ..

Sometimes when i switch on the light bulb , my computer speaker will have a weak "poke" noise.
