use 1 mouse and 1 keyboard. My current mouse is wireless however my keyboard is not. Any suggestions on how to set this up. I've heard of this KVM.. can someone please take me to school..

Thanks in advance

A KVM is just a switch that allows you to use one mouse, keyboard and screen with 2 computers. I have not seen anything that does 2 screens

But you CAN share one screen with the keyboard and mouse. Some KVM's loose the mouse features if they run on the ps2 ports(round green and purple plugs). USB should not be an issue.

Make sure you get a good quality unit or else the cables will be so cheap that you will loose video quality.

---------------EDIT------------

If you have 2 KVM's with a physical switch(many just use a shortkey like scroll lock twice then up) on each one may be able to be used just for screen switching on the other screen.

You could just use a KVM for the keyboard and mouse but not the screens. Have each screen still plugged into a computer. The only thing then is, as with all KVMs, you need to hit a key combo to switch between the 2 PCs.

Are you going to not use the screen at all?

In most cases it only the video quality thats in question. so almost any will work

You may also want to keep an eye out for a switching usb hub.

I have one with 4 ports so now independently send mouse, keyboard,IR Remote and ups monitoring to either computer. I use the built in dual inputs on my screen.

What i have is this. And i am using a power supply just in case i go overboard with devices.

A 7 port one is carried over a Tigerdirect under the Ultra(I am NOT a fan of them, but this device has served me well and its the same thing) product name. The reviews are mixed, but mine has been good with the exception to slightly reducing my mouses polling rate from 125 to 90. Yet on another mouse it does not do it at all.
