Just bought seagate 500 GB 7200.12 st3500418as drive and its making constant high pitch noise, is it normal for those drives to do that ?
Does it qualifies for RMA ?

Hard to judge noise on a forum but a 7200.12 should not sound much different to any other drive of its kind - lounder/quieter maybe, but not a different noise. I'd RMA

I have exactly this model, and it's perfectly silent.

Your bearings are probably out of order. Back to the seller or manufacturer.
