No display and warning beeps

I've seen the boot up screen a couple of times but get warning beeps from the machine most of the time and no display.
I installed everything, powered it up and it booted fine, except I forgot to plug in the power for my dvd drive. I turned the machine off and fixed it, but the next time I turned it on I got no display and a couple of beeps that according to the manual suggest that there is a problem with the video card. After trying a couple of different things with no results, I connected the other PCIe power connector to the card and it booted fine and I could see the BIOS. But when I restarted the machine, I got the same problem as before, only with different beeps. I've been able to see the boot up screen a couple of times, so it seems like the video card works fine, it just seems like there's an error somewhere. I'm at the end of my rope and I can't figure out what to do.

More about display warning beeps
  1. I suspect your PSU is underpowered on the 12v amps. Rosewill is a crap PSU.
  2. Really? Hm, that could be it. Do you have a favorite power supply or any suggestions?
  3. Roadrunner could be correct. Rosewill is not very good.

Corsair 550VX is a great PSU right now.

Yes it is more than the Rosewill. You pay for a quality PSU. Corsair is about the best you can buy right now.

Try a different video card if you can and see what happens.
  4. That looks good. I have no problem paying for a good power supply, I just want it to work with my card. It does seem that everything else is fine with the system, so my first step is gonna be to replace the power supply.
