I have taken a screenshot of SpeedFan while it says my CPU usage is at 0.2%.

Are these temperatures normal? I am overclocking the Q6600 to 2.9.

 

How much will it shorten the CPU life by if its too hot?

56 at idle is a bit on the warm side. Most try to aim for 60 degrees at load.

It won't shorten the lifespan. CPUs last much longer than they are usually used.

Firefox usage up, IE usage down - report

OneStat.com, an Amsterdam-based web research firm, says global use of the Firefox browser has increased 1.14 percent since May 2006, while Internet Explorer usage fell 2.12 percent during the same time.
