Im planning to OC Q9550 ( 2.8ghz ) to 3.4ghz.
( also getting sumbeam core contact cooler / antec 900 )

When I looked at the customer reviews of Q9450( which is slightly worse than q9550 for overclicking due to 8x multipliers ) ,
it seems like so many people were able to hit 3.2-3.4ghz on stock.

But most of the results were done on expensive rampage/maximus/790i board.

So I have a few questions.

1.
Do you think I can hit 3.4ghz with stock voltage or slightly higher voltage with P5q pro? ( as mentioned before, im getting sunbeam cooler + antec 900 )

2.
And how is the reputation of this P5q pro mobo?

3.
Whats the difference between those expensive mobo ( maximus/rampage )and mainstream mobo? Are those expensive because of they just offer higher OC capability? ( despite having almost similar specification )

there are more overclocking features on the expensive mobos like the rampage formula/extreme. The bios support tends to be better in more expensive mobos.
