Hey guys i just downloaded the new physx driver for my 9800gx2, so i decided to download the UT3 Physx Mod Pack and give it a go. I started to play the new maps but i noticed my fps dropped dramatically to around 20-30fps from like over 60fps. Does enabling physics require that much resource to slow the graphic card that much or is it still a driver issue since its new?

Here is my system:
intel core 2 quad q6600 @3.0ghz
msi p6n diamond (X-FI sound)
4gig of OCZ oc 900mhz
Nvidia 9800gx2 @ 725/1120
Lite-On Blue-ray
500gb x1
80gb x1
Antec 500 Earthwatt
Window vista
Ultimate 32-bit
22" lcd acer monitor
Logitech X-540 5.1 Speaker System

It used to work fine with the separate physics card. I installed my physics card on another computer with an nvidia card.............. the new drivers for the card wouldn't let the physics card be recognized. So now that the video card has to do the physics, I'm sure it's going to take a hit in performance. Something they didn't tell anybody......... or didn't want anybody to know.

When the physics games were first released they played like crap until you installed the physics card. Then all was good. Maybe nvidia needs to work on it a little...or a lot.

Im not surprised nvidia didnt tell anyone lol.
Hope they can fix this issue soon because getting such low fps is unacceptable and im running a high end 9800gx2 oc @ 725/1120 so i doubt a 8800 series could get playable fps on games. Hopefully ati wont have that much issues.

have you try running that phyX mod pack with out the phsx driver. so the CPU could run the phyX calculation. maybe you will get even lower then the fps you getting now.
