Hello,

I'm using a Pentium D PC (4 GB RAM, Windows XP Professional). Suddenly, it began to take a very long time to start Notepad from an Explorer window, and furthermore I noticed that WinZip has the same behaviour when I left click on a Zip file. Sometimes Explorer itself is slow, too, when showing the content of a folder. I used CCleaner to delete temporary files and clean registry; and subsequently I looked for malware with Emsisoft Anti-malware, but I didn't find anything special.

Many thanks in advance!

Best regards
Giannetto

Hi aford10,

first of all, many thanks for your comprehensive suggestions!

I already use Malwarebytes and CCleaner on a daily basis, but I never heard about Combofix, so I'm going to download and try it. I'll let you know!

Thanks again.

Best regards.
Giannetto
