right now its in a basic case with the side open....but it will soon to be moved in to a
COOLER MASTER HAF 932 once i get it on monday....anyways im been trying like crazy to OC this thing for like 2 days now
i read just about every thread about OCing the i7 with this mobo ...and set everything as others said..but still it crashes if i set BCLK Freq to 200 then it wont even post...i got it in to windows with these settings as recomend by a user called

is there anything im missing??
now with the settings like this im getting a BSoD when trying to load windows...if im lucky enough to get it in there it will crash as asoon i run prime95 and CPU-z/Realtemp tells me all my cores are in the 40sC and im running about 3.7 or about 3.8...
i would like to get this CPU to stay in about the 3.7's as i do HDvideo editing in Premier Pro /After effects ...games are cool but not my goal ...
anyone with a set up like this has any advice ? i read just about every webpage there is about Ocing the i7 (theres alot) most even talk about this mobo...but always ends in failing thanks for your help guys
Hi,
I think you get those setting on a forum , where I get mine. When I tried it I have problem too. I update my bios on my p6t v2, I can go now to 3.95 stable, but too play safe I run it at 3.67. Solve all my ocing problem. But there a downside doing that move , some people got problem with the update and loose thing after the upgrade, audio hdd. I my case I loose nothing maybe i'm lucky.
Ill head over to asus and check out that update thanks!!, so after the update do you still have all the settings i posted? if not pls let me know how your got your set up i would like to see it go to 3.95 too...but most likely like you will keep it about 3.6/7
as for the update could you pls link me where you saw ppl are loosing audio? i would like to read more on that...i use optical right now for the audio if that matters...
I too am having a difficult time OC'ing. I seem to require much higher voltages than others are reporting to achieve stability. The best stable config I've gotten is 3.6GHz - but I see so many reports of achieving 4GHz.
Additionally, I seem to have sporadic boot problems. my system will post, then go to windows loading screen, then go black and never make it to the windows logon screen. After a minute or so, I will get 1 beep. If I reset the system, it will usually boot and run stable. Not sure if this is an OC issue, or a motherboard/Ram/GPU issue.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Derek
PS:
- I first test my memory settings by configuring a low (12x) CPU multiplier and moderate CPU voltages
- Then I test my CPU by reducing the memory multiplier (via the DRAM CLK setting) and using known good DRAM bus voltages

wow your setting of
CPU V - 1.45
does sound a bit much ,in no forums i read going above 1.35 , but i to get the issue where the screen goes black where should post and not boot in to windows, then once a force restart it will work,then the cpu gets reset to 2.66
still dont know what the right settings are
But most other posts indicate as low as 1.35 should be plenty for up to 4GHz. I would expect some system-system variation, and not all cpu/board combos to be the same. But 1.35 to 1.5 is a pretty large variation. My current understanding is - as long as you have a solid cooler to keep the temps down it's ok to run higher voltages. But I try to keep them as low as I can.
Besides the boot issue, my biggest concern is why my system seems to differ from the majority of them and require more volts...

i would really like to be able to keep my cpu @ anywhere from 3.6/7 ..but like i said i can OC it but once i seem to run a program that requires more cpu power my system crashes..mostly with a BSoD

hi
i might be able to help you
here's one of my recent post of my rig
Spec:
i7 920@ 4.2Ghz w/speedstep and turbo mode

it's in chinese but you can still see the photo that i oced to 200/2000 with ease
http://uwants.com/viewthread.php?tid=8051696 here's my settings:
Ai Overclock Tuner => Manual
Intel Speed Step Tech => Enabled
Intel Turbo Tech => Enabled
CPU Ratio => Auto
BCLK Freq => 200

hope it helps
thanks for the reply ryanytchan...i gotta admmit 4.2Ghz is a bit more then what i need lol....i was looking for some where in the rang of 3.6.
but for shyt's and giggles i thought i would give it a try...but my options differ from yours...
for DRam Frq i can get
1113MHz
1483MHz
1854MHz
2226MHz
2596MHz
2967MHz
and for UCLK i cant get 4009.. closest thing i have is
3895MHz & 4080MHz
QPI Link Data Rate i can get
6677MT/s
8159MT/s
8902MT/s
not sure why....
with the options i have do you have any recommendations to get to 3.6 stable?

Thanks again for your help!!
you need 200 bclk to get those settings
i am using p6t delux v2
3.6G i guess you could go for 180bclk or 200
for 180 you won't need that much voltage for qpi
200bclk*18=3.6Ghz
what's you ram again?1600?
try using lower qpi until you get it stable
try the settings above first and see if it work
just make sure your ram is running on 1333 cause memory modules in this speed isn't designed for overclocking
if you want better bandwidth i suggest you work on timings
