I spent 4 hours in onine chat with Gateway with no luck fixing the problem. Basically, my new Gateway NV52 laptop came with a dual layer dvd burner. However, despite trying 4 different burning programs and several different media, I can not burn DVDs although I can read them and burn cds.
The drivers appear to be up to date and working. Can anyone help with this or suggest where I could go for help? Many thanks!!

Try updating the firmware of the driver.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried your suggestion and it still is not working. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated...
