I am going to be running an NDAS that is ethernet connected. It is capable of transfer speeds of 1000Mbps and my mobod is also. I have a 2wire wireless modem also but I believe that speed of it is only 100Mbps. Will I be losing the 10x speed if this is so?

Ok, that just confused me. What about the modem/router? I have to have it because it is DSL and it need to be used. I do have a switch after the router because of more computers.

The 2Wire is a combination DSL Modem/Wireles Router/Network Switch. The ports are only 100 Mbps. If your seperate network switch is 1000 Mbps and all the 1000 Mbps devices are connected to it, they will run at 1000 Mbps bewteen themselves.

It is a modem/router combination from 2wire for my AT&T DSL. Model 1701HG

Ok, help me out. I will set up a diagram.

Incoming DSL into the 2wire(100Mbps capable) ----- out to computer ---- Incoming DSL into the 2wire(100Mbps capable) -----out to 1000Mbps switch

from 1000Mbps switch to ---- bluray
from 1000Mbps switch to ---- Denon AV receiver
from 1000Mbps switch to ---- another computer
from 1000Mbps switch to ---- NDAS which is 1000Mbps capable.
As is stated the 2wire is only 100Mbps capable but everything else is 1000Mbps.

And all the devices attached to the 1000 Mbps switch will communicate at 1000 Mbps between themselves.

To get maximum speed between your computer and the bluray, other computer, etc.. plug your computer into the gb switch. That way, the modem won't limit any of your speeds.
