I am going to rebuild my gaming system, And seel my old part's to cover my part upgrading. I do however have a few qestions on the parts that i have picked out. maybe you guys could give me a better idea. of what i should upgrade and what i should not. I will be playing CNC3/Cod2/COHpposing Fronts/AOE3/Maybe Some WoW and SC2 when it comes out. as well. I will be playing these game's on my LG 20'1 Widescreeen Res 1680x1050. I want to make sure i will have not problems with the parts i have picked out with my currect setup.
Here is my Setup now.
Intel PD 920 2.8 2x2mb 800fsb skt 775 with zalman 9500
Asus P5k-V
Cosair XMS2 4gb 2x2 ddr2 800
160gb hhd 74gb Raptor
700 Watt Thermaltake
Armor series black with 250mm fan on side.
Windows XP Pro
now i was looking over what i think needed to be upgraded.
I will be putting Vista x64 Ulimate back on this computer.
My qestions
1# Will this setup serve me good?
2# Can i play the games that i said above and max them out?
3# This ram and mobo work?
4# Should i change the mobo?
5# which video cards should i go with on the list i have?
6# should i make any differnt upgrade's then what i have on the list?
7# Should i just get a Q6600 G0?
You could get a P45 chipset mobo, keep the ram, the psu, the case, the OS. Get the Q9450, has a higher multiplier and more cache than the q9300. The 9800GTX will probably be better for the 1680x1050 resolution. For the mobo, you can go with the Asus P5Q-E or P5Q-Deluxe (These are the latest p45 chipset and has been known to overclock well) If you are doing some video encoding or use software that uses sse4.1 then you are better off with the q9450 as it has the latest instruction list where as the q6600 doesn't.
