just to see what people think . i have a evga 780i - 8800gts g92 - corsair 6400 2 gigs . i have a e8400 and i was looking at the q9450 is it worth the switch .

No, your CPU beats it in more than half of the applications you could possibly use and the Q9450 is useless when Nehalem is around the corner and the much MUCH cheaper Q9770 and Q9650.
