well from what i have read on toms hardware forms if you get the dual core it will perform better now for games. but the quad core will last longer. the graphics i would wait on. when the new ones come out they will ( hopefully :) ) bring the prices of the old ones down some and if you want to wait long enough the new ones will come down to. interesting choice on the mobo. i have never seen that one. its a really bad board to sli. you have the money to step up to a 780 or i would suggest ( if you want to save money and still get a good sli mobo) get the 680i. i have heard some people complane that it doesnt support full sli but the one i have does (bfg 680i)

ummm its not for SLI, SLI is a waste of money im just using one graphics card so i dont see really whats so bad with the mobo. what is so bad about the mobo in your opinion?

there is nothing wrong with it its got a nice heatpipe system. it looks like a really nice board. i just want a mobo that has sli full sli support. i have never read that sli was a "waist of money" although there can be better choices when upgrading from a single card to a better single or sli. other than that its a really nice board that i have never seen. i havint studied the abit boards too much.

Well actually now im wondering myself would it be better to get a SLI ready mobo just incase i ever want to upgrade further otherwise I would just be stuck with one Video card unless i Got a whole new mobo also would be wortg getting an SLI mobo now?

Get the quad. It will not even be used at 100% in most games, so you'd get the same fps as with an E8400. And when you have a game like FSX that actually uses quads properly you'll be very happy you got a quad.

Get an eVGA 8800GTS 512MB, it's got a better cooler and it's faster.

The rest is just fine.

^+1 for Quad.

Looks good. If OCing, get a XIGMATEK S1283.

Yes, the aBit IP35 Pro will work fine with those parts. If you are sure you won't want to add a second video card later for SLI, then it's a great choice. It's one of the best motherboards out there for systems with a single video card - lots of awards.

I'm still wondering about the SLI would It be worth investing in a Mobo that has SLI. I hear that SLI is only useful if your at a High resolution. Would just having one 8800 GTS be able t play games like crysis on med to high setting and still have good framerates?

depends on your screen size but yes probably. but the point ( in my opinion) of sli is you can buy a cheaper graphics card and when games are to much for one you can get another of the same card and make your money last longer.

darkestdust, since you're not ruling out SLI, I suggest you spend $20 more and get this PSU:

PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 Quad (Red) 750W
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341011&Tpk=silencer+750

The 650TX is very good too, but the Silencer is the best in its range and today's price ($110 after rebate and shipping) is the best I've ever seen. With this PSU you can be sure you can add a second video card - it's certified by nVidia for 8800GTS SLI.

Also, get a SLI motherboard. Some good choices would be eVGA 750i, Asus P5N-D, XFX 780i, eVGA 780i. The 780i series is better than 750i, but more expensive, and its main advantage over 750i (Triple SLI) is wasted for you because the 8800GTS doesn't do Triple SLI. The 680i chipset also supports SLI, but it's a bit old IMO.

+1 for PP&C 750 if SLI/CrossFire.
