In terms of gaming performance? I would go with the 4890. Unless I'm missing something, you never specified what kind of performance increase you are looking for.

Well i was thinking gaming performance. I want to extend the life of my rampage formula 775 so thinking that going with the q9650 now and waiting till a new vid card came out would yeild me better frame rates now but im not sure. its very hard to find overclocked vs overclocked reviews out there.

I concur. The 4890 is a power house card, and 2 of them is just nasty.Enjoy the new card, forget the cpu for now as you are doing great with it at 3.6 stable.Get some good after market cooling and squeeze a couple hundered more MHZ out of it.Enjoy the new video card.Goodluck.
