hey guys i have the Gigabyte GTX 260 216, stock clocks are 630/1350/999 I have overclocked it too 729/1512/1152 with a slight instabillity. if i go down to 720/1476 it is rock solid.. I have rearranged my case fans and now with the 729/1512 it seems stable at under 55c load with 80% fan but before hand it was hitting over 60c and freezing. I just want to know if you think a 5fps increase is worth the higher fan and chance of instabillity. I run my games in 1920x1080 with full AA - AF maxed settings so i do tend to see some games come down to 55 fps under extreme conditions on screen. stay with these or drop back to the next step?

PC specs are:

C2D E8400 @ 3.6
500w Darkknight PSU (Initially i thought this could be the bottleneck, still not sure) with 18amps at the x2 12v rails
3.5 GB of RAM
running on windows XP x32

Also the card is the 55nm version so even if i could change the voltages i really dont like messing with them.

First, your PSU is bare minimum for that card.I recommend at least a 650 watt with 45amps on the 12volt rail.18amps is NOT sufficient.2nd,make sure it's a good quality PSU.Less chance of failure.3rd,Goodluck.

I thought as much, with these low temps on air im positive there is still a lot of potential overclocking left in this card, thanks for the reply.
