im new to oc'ing guys.

my mobo supports upto 1600fsb via oc and i want to know how much i can go over this limit. i was able to reach 3.01ghz (430x7) which increased the fsb to 1720. and since it says my mobo supports upto 1600, i didnt want to go any further than this. ran prime95 for around 30mins with no errors after that i stopped it.

specs:
-q8200 with coolermaster v8
-gigabyte ep31-ds3l rev 2.0
-2gb ddr2 800 dual channel

Depends on the individual board. Gigabyte makes good stuff, i tried to save money with a Biostar board and can only 1640 fsb ( rated for 1600 ). It still overclocked well and cost me $50 less than a comparable p43. Push till its not stable. then clock it back just a little.

Yeh, it all depends on your board but you can usually go over quite a bit. My board is only rated for 1333 FSB but I was just playing around doing some benches and had it up to 2100.
