Ok so I wanna upgrade my CPU but I don't want to buy a new motherboard because I don't have enough money. Right now I have a Pentium D @ 3.9 Ghz and I want to upgrade to a CPU that's compatible with my motherboard which is a;

GIGABYTE GA-8I945P-G-RH

http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Product [...] uctID=1960

So will any relatively new CPU work with my motherboard? Doesn't matter if it's AMD or Intel.

Thanks.

it doz matter if its amd or intel coz amd wont work in it....lol

i dont think c2d is supported by this 945 chipset.some 945 supports c2d, but if it does, it should say so on the retail box

Vertigon, so you're saying I could use a Core 2 Duo E8500 on the mobo I have now? If so, that would be great :hello:

Reply to D3lit3

Sorry dude the D960 is the best it can do.

If you read the compatibility chart all the core2duo's have N/A behind them which means that they don't WORK!
The header for that support list is clear about it.

MrsBytch is right ..... you put a link to the mobo info yet you can't even click the cpu support list and find out for yourself. That is not a good way to get respect in these forums.

Anyways you'll probably get banned for the type of language you used so we won't have to put up with your laziness for too long !

It's true...what pisses ppl off is when you're too lazy to read the basics. Read the simple **** and if your still stuck, come ask and you won't be flamed so much.

Come on people, why wouldn't he click it if he saw it? We're all human and if people are simply going to get flamed then thier less likely to come into forums which means we have less computer savvy people in the world, which is exactly what people are complaining about. Peace ya'all.
