Long story short? Basically the 9800GX2 has a fairly low and consistant minimum framerate, while the gtx280 has higher minimum framerates - Both are good performers, but the gtx280 is a much better card by any standard - and this is what most of the reviews don't show you, real gameplay experience of the card.

Anyways, this isn't intended to win hearts and minds or something silly like that - its just for your entertainment I guess you could say.

Nice review, shows that you can't always trust the benchmarks.

The GTX 280 is a powerhouse card.
No one can deny that.
If it were priced in the $450-$500 range it would be an excellent card.
Unfortunately it is priced to high to compete with the alternatives.
Damn I wish I was rich...

If the automobile had followed the same development cycle as the computer, a Rolls-Royce today would cost $100, get a million miles to the gallon, and explode once a year, killing everyone inside.
