Can't find new Hard Drive

How do I partition a disk? I put a new SATA hard drive, my bios recognizes it, and my computer found new hardware. But it's not under "my computer" i read the solution for this question, but I don't have the option to partition under "disk management."

Make sure you're right-clicking on the disk portion of the right pane. The disk portion is the area at the left with grey background that says "Disk 1" or "Disk 2" etc. Right-clicking on the empty area to the right won't work until you've got a partition.
