Please Suggest a PSU

my config is

core 2 du0 E7300 2.66Ghz
GT 240 1gb GDDR5
2 GB DDR 2 RAM
320 GB HDD
DVD RW drive

MOBO MSI BOSTON 7525 ver 1.0

Since its low config shall i just go for local PSU of 450W or should i necessarily buy a good one.


I also want to kno if i could use a dual rail 12V PSU since all the shops around haver ran out of corsair CX 430 v2
and im left wth antec 450 and some Cooler master which has dual rail...

I am dyin to play DOTA2 so please reply soon

Never, ever go cheap on a PSU. When cheap PSUs like Diablotek go up (and I can almost guarantee that they will), they tend to take something else in your computer with them.

Buy a reliable name brand like Antec. With your setup, either the EarthWatts 380W or 430W would be perfect.

It's best for you to go with the Antec 450 w psu.
A single rail PSU is more desirable though.

Single or dual rail doesn't really matter
The Antec 450 would be more than sufficient

PSU rails have nothing to do with compatiblity with the mobo. If the PSU is ATX, then it is compatible...and the Antec VP-450 is an ATX PSU and therefore compatible with your PC.

I bought it and it works fine although so many cables are left unused ...

Glad it works! Cable management for a clean looking, good airflow case takes a little work. Zip ties and creative placement are the keys...behind the mobo tray is always a good option if you have the room.

12V cable? Do you mean the EPS12V 8-pin that you split into two 4-pins?
