So I just got my s1283 and quadcore 9450, this will be my first install cpu and heatsink together. I purchased ARCTIC COOLING MX-2 to use as the TIM. Now I know everyone has their own personal preference on how to apply it. Just want some input on other people's personal experiences. I was leaning toward the pea method as described by arctic's site ... http://www.arctic-cooling.com/down [...] retail.pdf
then letting the s1283 spread it on its own when I press down to install it on the board.

I noticed arctic silvers recommended install on quad cores with as5 is a line across the middle. I realize its not the same materials, but i've read other people doing the same with different tims.

Then there's some methods I've seen where people put the tim across the 3 lines across the base of the s1283 like in this picture http://www.hardforum.com/showthrea [...] 484&page=2 (bout half way down) I'm assuming that they dont apply any to the actual cpu, but just let it spread across durning installation?

So any advice for me will be much appreciated, I just don't want to screw this up.

also just off topic slightly, anyone using this heatsink in combination of Thermaltake armor case va8003bws?
it seems like the heatsink is almost inside the 220mm side case fan. I haven't fully tested it as my mobo has not arrived yet, can anyone confirm if its gonna be a problem or not?

thanks for reading
