I have a dell dimension 4700 and i have one sata 150 and one ata 100. I want to upgrade to a hd that is a sata 3 gb/s. Do you think my computer can handle it?

Yes, they are backwards compatible. You can set a jumper on the drive to limit the speed to 1.5 GB/s if necessary.
