I'm trying to pick out a motherboard that will be good at overclocking the Q6600 that I am getting. I don't have too much money to spend (about $120-$150) and need a decent motherboard. Someone recommended the P5Q, but I have no idea which version to get. I have a single Nvidia 8800GTS (so Crossfire would be a waste in more than one way). I have 3GB of Ram at 800MHz.

Could any one give me a link to the Motherboard best suited for my needs at NewEgg.com.

Also could someone tell me what 16-Phase power and 8-Phase power means?

I can give additional info about my system if needed.

Hopefully I can decide tonight and put in an order for the new parts. :)

In that price range look at the P5Q pro in P45 but I would just get a DS3L $85 ( unless you are using crossfire) in P35 flavor for the Q6600. You will be limited by temps and cooling with the 65nm quad. If you had a 45nm quad then I would go with a P45 chipset.

Thanks for the recommendation. I was originally looking at a P5K and someone recommended the P5Q.

Would you recommend the DS3L over the P5K for OCing a Q6600 and which version would be best?

P5Q-E if you plan to overclock the quad.

The crossfire technology seems like a waste though.
