just doing a once over before i order, i plan on running a home/gaming/storage server (my upstream is 8MB)
i was wondering if you would recommend this motherboard, or if you have a better suggestion.
i prefer Asus over any other brand, but if a different motherboard has more options i will go with that.

CPU: Xeon X3360 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117166
MB: P5E WS Pro LGA 775 Intel X38 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131244
RAM: DOMINATOR ddr2(1066)/pc2(8500) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145197

this ram should work fine, since this board doesnt require FBdimm, right?

Looks good but why get a Xeon CPU? get a Q9550 or Q9450 instead.
Also for RAM i say go for a DDR2 800 RAM with 4-4-4x or lower timings because the difference between DDR2 800 and 1066 isnt much and DDR2 800 OC's very good too.

its xeon because its going to be a server, and xeons offer virtualization options desktop versions dont, that and its 15$ cheaper than the desktop.
i didnt think timings would be that big of a deal for a server box but i didnt think about overclocking it, i mean this things going to be running high speed yate loons so they will be cold as ice XD
thanks

actually both the Xeons and cores in the 775 offer the same technologies, i know my C2D has the same virtual desktop emulation that xeons have, but i would say if it going to be a server i would get a Xeon, as it is optimised for 24/7 operation. apartently it's slightly high quality silicon.
