Had a mobo fry and changed the guts (mobo, RAM, CPU, HD, etc) of my PC. Was previously running Ubuntu under the old system and I want now to recover some of data from the old HD. Am now running Win XP Pro.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

You can use the Free Testdisk sw to recover data from old HD. I believe TestDisk is included in Partedmagic live CD. Live CD downloadable from http://partedmagic.com/
