Im in search of an cpu cooler that will cool my q6600 that I plan on oc to 3.0 ghz. At a nice tempature I have a coolermaster elite 330 with 2x120 fans but i have a weak cpu cooler i run at around 47 idle and 50+ 100%
Im also upgrading mobos to a 750i i figured this would be a good time to upgrade cpu coolers

that one or Sunbeam Core Contact Freezer. Same price almost, I have the CCF and I'm very happy. My Q6600 stays at 28-31C in idle (CoreTemp measurements) and about 47 in full load (about an hour of Prime)

I would definitely go with the Xigmatech HDT-S1238 (don't forget to order a backplate with it - part # ACK-I7751 - $7 on the egg) I recently purchased it along with a q6600 and have it currently running at 3.4ghz with idle temps are around 27C and full load temps are at 31C!!! I got the chip up to 3.6ghz and had to increase the voltage up a good bit (+.200v) and load temps were between 33-35. I wasn't sure if that amount of voltage was safe so backed it down a bit so I can read up and let the cpu burn in a lil'

In short, it's the best HSF I've ever owned.

bootysmaka you seem to have better temps with you Xig than I do, please share how you applied your thermal paste. Also I have a Xig cooler and my E6750 @ 3.6 idles at 34c and is at most 45c at load.
