Dell Chassis versions?

Wow...I am honestly at a loss...I have been a computer tech for about ten years and I have never found out or been told the difference in Dell proprietary Chassis versions. I am trying to get certified in Dell but in order to do that I would like to understand what seperates chassis versions. If anyone out there can help me out I would appreciate it greatly.

not sure if this is any help, but all of the newer optiplex systems utilize a btx design whereas the case is basically opened in the front to allow better air flow. this is my favorite type of system to work with because everthing is so quick and easy.

gx270's and below.... just a pain to deal with because of having to open them up over and over.
