forget about the graphics card that you have chose, it will be obsolete in couple of weeks when new gen of card come out from nvidia and ati. make your decision then based on reliable benchmarks and prices.

get the vista home premium 64 bit instaed of the ultimate. there are practically no reasons to get the ultimate version. this will save you almost a hundered bucks that you can put in to buy better graphics card. premium can be found for 90-100 dollar range.

not sure how good the mobo is. i'd recommand the msi k9a2 plat or the gigabyte ones with the 790fx chipset. now this is only if you wanna buy it now. soon there is the new 790gx chipset along with new sb700 and sb750 chipsets which are "supposedly" be able to really overclock the phenoms. or raise its stock speeed. but wait for the official benches and reviews.

i'm assuming that you have a different hard drive than the one you want to buy? this one is old and slow. get something from the latest gen of hard drives. seagate 7200.11 drives or whatever the WD equevlent is.

good choices on cpu, psu, ram.

by the end of july all of these components should be available. the new grahics cards will be out in couple of weeks, not sure about the nb and sb chipsets from amd.

also you didn't choose a case, i'm assuming you have one already that you will reuse.

and btw, prices at the end of july will change. so some componants like hd, or ram could be different. this would depend on the deals at the time that you are buying.

well for little over 1k you can definelty do it. the processors are a lot faster, but also more expensive. this is your choice, you will find arguments going both ways. i choose amd, most people don't. i'm sure that someone else can choose a really good mobo/intel cpu for you, that won't break your budget.

Thanks alot for the help, I'll look into the mobo's and chipsets mentioned, looks like the best thing to do is to wait the month and then plan out my computer after the price drops and new generation of hardware.

8800GT obsolete? It's a great card for the price, you simply cannot go wrong with it. It's won bang for the buck awards everywhere at 250USD. Now its 150-180USD.

By Q4 your board will be "obsolete".
And don't get a 8800 with a 790fx nb. Get a board with nvidia chipset.
Phenom is a great cpu. I love my 9600 b2 vanilla with 3870 in crossfire :).

Wow, forget SLi, too many stability problems. Get a C2D build with a P35 or P45 motherboard. For example:

WD 1600AAJS, Intel Core 2 Duo E7200, XFX 8800GT(S) 512MB, Crucial Ballistix Tracer 2x2GB, GA-(E)P35-DS3L, Corsair PSU or Antec PSU.
