Hello everyone. I am having trouble connecting to an unsecured wireless network that is provided for residents of my apartment building. My laptop connects just fine and I just bought a Zonet ZEW2500P wireless adapter for my new desktop and cannot seem to connect even though it has full signal strength on both machines. Both computers are running Vista (the desktop is 64) and I have installed the latest Ralink driver for the Zonet. I desperately need internet on this machine, does anyone have any ideas? Thank you in advance.

Try turning of any firewalls temporarily to test your connection.
Any security programs such as McAfee on your computers?

Could the wireless network be MAC address filtering?
You would need to ask them.

Firewall is off, and I don't think that it is MAC filtered. I wanted to try and use the same address as my laptop to see if it will work, but for some reason the network address doesn't show up in network sharing center properties on my desktop. I am on the connection on my laptop right now but still no luck with the other machine, I've even tried placing the adapter in the same spot as my laptop and it makes no difference.
