Bios Password Error after Windows Update..

After updating to windows 7 a few years back on a Toshiba Satellite A215, a windows update hosed the system and created a bios password.

I took out the hard drive and jumped the bios password when I reinstalled the hard drive and booted up the laptop, windows Vista was the operating system.

Is there a way to figure out if windows 7 is still present on the system somewhere. I really only want to see if the word docs and photos can be found somewhere on the hard drive. I've searched the normal places, but can't seem to find them.

Any good ideas or thoughts?
