I won a alien ware Area-51® X58 in alien ware give away
and should be here in few weeks and wanted to know if you can overclock them.

I know people say alien ware is *** but it going to own pc im using now

my pc:
Intel premium 3.0 ghz
gefore 7300
500mb ram

new pc alien ware:
Intel i7 920
gtx 260
3 g ram

They're not crap. They're overpriced.

I think you can overclock most of them.

Agreed - I don't think I've heard many say they are crap, but overpriced is correct.

My assumption is that you can OC - they are still normal hardware, and I don't believe they lock the BIOS (like more mainstream computers).

i think you can overclock them.

That is kinda like the underlying reason to buy one of them. They are built for gamers or performance buffs, that want to overclock and tweak.......
The are nice systems, but you pay a premium. You can buy all the exact parts and build yourself for half the money. But of course the one thing Alienware can do, is they run and test everything before they send it to you.
